Bryce Canyon Hotel Accommodations

Our Bryce Canyon hotel recommendation is...
Best Western Ruby's Inn !

This Bryce Canyon hotel called Ruby's Inn is owned and managed by the Syrett family, but branded as a Best Western.  On our last visit, I had a chance to interview Lance Syrett, one of the owner-managers.

His ancestor Ruby Syrett arrived in the Bryce Canyon area in 1916 with the intention of becoming a rancher.  But instead, he saw the need for tourist accommodations and his legacy lives on as Ruby's Inn...

Open Year Round
From what we could tell, these are the only accommodations open year round that serve visitors of Bryce Canyon.

Recently Renovated
During the Winter of 2006 the Syrett family spent $2 million on renovations, adding granite countertops and new fixtures.  They also added microwaves and refrigerators to rooms.  During the next year, they plan to replace dressers, tables and cabinets.

Reserve your preferred room
Ruby’s Inn has 368 rooms.  Rooms are located in the main lodge and in several out-lying lodges.  We stayed in Deer lodge because we asked for a room with 2 king beds.  These rooms are enormous with plenty of space for my kids to drive their radio-control cars.

The rooms in the main lodge of the Bryce Canyon hotel are smaller (normal hotel size), but they are located in proximity to the indoor pool and you may walk down the hall to the restaurant.  There is also an elevator in the main lodge.

Room amenities
Our shower had good water pressure and lots of warm water.  I also appreciated the heat lamp (a recently upgrade) used to warm up the bathroom after getting out of the tub or shower.  Rooms have a microwave and a refrigerator, so bring your own food for lunches or breakfast, but plan to eat in the main lodge restaurant.  Rubys Inn also has a grocery store to stock up on goodies.

Restaurant in the main lodge
Let Ruby’s Inn treat you to some great Western cooking and hospitality.  WE found the restaurant to have great food and quick service.  Try the Portobello mushrooms appetizer (we ordered them the first and second night of our stay).  The red mountain trout was wonderful and my wife raved about the Pot Roast.

Here are some of our Utah Trip Advisor recommendations for your stay at Ruby's Inn at Bryce Canyon National Park...

Suggestions:

1. Get the Jacuzzi suite next to the pool (don't worry about noise, the pool is enclosed with glass windows).

2.  Take advantage of all the extra-curricular activities at this Bryce Canyon hotel.

3.  Bring your camera to take some great pictures of Bryce Canyon.
