Flight To Salt Lake City

Utah has five airports with commercial service.  The majority of travelers will arrive in Utah via a flight to Salt Lake City.

The good news is that a flight to Salt Lake City is fairly cheap.  Salt Lake City International Airport serves 25 million passengers per year.  SLC is the second largest hub of Delta Airlines and Southwest Airlines is also a major player in this market.

I love non-stop flights!  SLC has more non-stop flights then any other western United States airport.  I always attempt to get a non-stop, because who wants to risk missing a flight because the first one was delayed?  Why prolong your travel time?

I also figure that the take off and landing are the most dangerous part of the flight, so why take the risk more than once.  My advice is always book a non-stop flight, even if it cost a little more.

The Salt Lake City International Airport is close to downtown.  Rental cars are available from the airport.

Planning to visit Southwestern Utah?
Flight from Salt Lake City to St. George Municipal Airport
St. George Municipal Airport is located in Southwest Utah on Interstate 15 (I-15) near Zion National Park, has flights arriving from Salt Lake City by Delta Airlines, operated by SkyWest.  Other flights arrive from Los Angeles (LAX) via United Airlines, also operated by SkyWest Airlines.

Salt Lake City International Airport to Cedar City Regional Airport
Flights to Cedar City (located on I-15 about 50 minutes north of St. George) became available May 7, 2006.  Cedar City has flights from Salt Lake City and Las Vegas on Mesa Airlines via a 19-passenger jet.

Cedar City Regional Airport is centrally located to serve three National Parks, two National Monuments, two ski resorts and acres of pristine recreational areas (and scenic sightseeing trips are available).  The airport provides quick access to the many events and activities taking place in Cedar City such as the Utah Summer Games, the Utah Shakespearean Festival and sporting events at Southern Utah University.

Within the terminals of each airport, you will be able to find multiple rental car agencies to choose from to continue your journey.

Planning to visit Moab (Southeast Utah)?

Flight to Salt Lake City via Canyonlands Field
Located in the heart of one of the most scenic areas in the nation, Canyonlands field is the center for general aviation activity in southeastern Utah.  Serving the town of Moab, Utah, Canyonlands field is located close to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse Point State Park, Manti-La Sal National Forest, the Colorado River, and an abundance of Bureau of Land Management Recreation Areas. This region is an outdoor wonderland for hikers, bikers, sightseers, photography buffs, rafters, golfers, four wheelers and many more.

Canyonlands Field is perfectly positioned to serve the needs of all general and business aviation users. It has the ability to accommodate a wide range of commercial activities. Current activity includes scenic flights over the Canyonlands Region, on-demand charter flights, skydiving, aircraft rental, flight instruction, and scheduled air service from Moab to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Your cheapest ticket will be a flight to Salt Lake City.  If your plans take you to southern Utah, a connector flight to St. George, Moab, Cedar City, or Vernal may make sense.  Most people have limited time that we don't want to spend on the road during a vacation.  If you also consider the extra cost of gasoline, it may be worth the extra money to fly to southern Utah.
