Outdoor adventures along
the Mount Timpanogos Trail are highly recommended! Staying at Sundance
lodging
allows easy access
...
As the name implies Mount Timpanogos
Trailhead leads to the peak of "Timp" (the name is usually shortened by
locals). This mountain peak is regarded by those who live in the region as
the most impressive of all the Wasatch Mountains.
Timpanogos rises to an
elevation of 11,749 feet (3,582 m) above sea level. See wikipedia for an
excellent
review of
Mt. Timpanogos.
Winter Activities. During the Winter months,
the Alpine Loop (one of the best scenic routes in Utah!) is closed beyond this
location. Since the loop is not plowed it remains snow-packed throughout
the winter. This allows for easy access to 70 miles of
snowmobiling
trails starting just past the Sundance Resort (download this map).

On the same trails you may go cross-country
skiing and there other trails that are excellent for snowshoeing hikes, like the
trail to Stewart Falls.
